FORUM offers legal representation for victims of human rights violations before national and international organs. We believe that through strategic litigation we can obtain remedy not only for one individual client but that we can change the whole system.
RIGHTS OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES
FORUM closely cooperates with international organisation Validity and represents clients with different types of disabilities, in particular in the following areas:
- inclusive education
- legal capacity
- accessibility and availability of social services
- protection against discrimination
RIGHTS OF VICTIMS OF ILL-TREATMENT
Representing victims of torture, inhuman and degrading treatment makes an important part of our work. We understand the litigation in this area as a possibility to strenghten prevention from ill-treatment as well as a possibility to achieve systematic changes with the view to increase protection of vulnerable groups in particular, securing effective investigation and punishment of perpetrators. We are active in the following areas:
- police violence
- immigration detention
- psychiatric hospitals
- social care homes
- foster homes and child care institutions
Children are one of the most vulnerable group of our society. We therefore actively litigate to increase their protection. We represent in particular:
- children in conflict with law
- children in institutional care
- children with disabilities
RIGHTS OF MIGRANTS AND ASYLUM SEEKERS
We are aware that some persons are forced to leave their home country from fear of persecution or war conflict. Their situation deserves special attention and support. We deal with cases regarding in particular:
- families in immigration detention
- asylum seekers
- vulnerable groups
We put particular attention to victims of hate crime and hate speech in public domain.
RIGHTS OF SEXUAL MINORITIES
We help people from LGBTI community to enjoy their rights in real life. We seek to abolish the requirement of sterilization when changing sex.
Through strategic litigation we fight discrimination against Roma especially in these areas:
- access of Roma children to education
- access of Roma families to housing
We cooperate in this area with international partners European Roma Rights Centre (ERRC) and Validity.
